Ducati clinches its third consecutive MotoGP Constructors’ World Title in Aragón.

Ducati secured the MotoGP Constructors’ World title for the third consecutive year. It’s the fourth World Title for the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer in the premier class, clinched five races ahead of the end of the Championship.

Among the riders who have contributed to the achievement of this milestone, with the 10 victories obtained in 2022, there are certainly Pecco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini, absolute protagonists at the finish line in the Spanish GP of Aragon.

Great victory for Motor Valley driver Enea Bastianini

Call it a rematch of Misano, call it a fourth win of the season, call it whatever you want… Simply a masterpiece race that of Enea Bastianini who, with the victory, delivers the constructors’ title to Ducati and (thanks also to the fall of Quartararo) moves closer to the top of the overall standings now at minus 48 points.

Pecco P2, but getting closer to the top of the world championship

Among the riders who have contributed to this achievement, with six victories in 2022, is undoubtedly Pecco Bagnaia, who finished second in the Aragon GP. Starting from pole position, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider got off to a good start, immediately taking the lead. After an initial exchange of positions with Bastianini, Pecco remained in first place until the last lap, when the fellow Ducati rider overtook him to secure the victory by just 42 thousandths. Thanks to today’s second place and following Quartararo’s crash on the first lap, Bagnaia brings his gap from the French rider to just 10 points.

I’m thrilled with today’s result. Enea and I had a great race! I knew he would be very fast in the final laps, and when he passed me, I preferred not to make any move on him. I tried to win and waited for a safe opportunity to pass him, which in the end wasn’t there. I knew these 20 points were important, and I preferred not to risk it. Now we must stay focused and think about the next race in Japan next week.”

New Pagani Utopia: the alchemy of pleasure, the equation of beauty.

What would be important for the next Pagani hypercar? Horacio Pagani certainly had his own ideas, but he asked his closest clients, those who eagerly await each of his creations, to express their wishes. They already had exceptionally fast and beautiful cars, what were they still missing? Three terms stood out almost each time they replied: simplicity, lightness and the pleasure of driving. In its development, the C10 project therefore went against the main trends of the time. No heavy batteries, no hybrid power, just a wonderful V12; no dual-clutch system, just a pure seven-speed manual or automated transmission. All this to ensure that the car would respond better than ever to its driver’s every action and work with them to be the purest form of driving, a ‘classic’ experience defined in new ways.

With a brief like this and such high ambitions, what name could be chosen for the car that would embody these principles? Utopia… For the philosopher Thomas More in 1516, Utopia was a place that did not exist, and ever since the name has been given to the idealized places of which we dream. But for those who make their own future, for creators, utopia exists, it is ‘merely’ a case of finding it!

Every Pagani begins with an aesthetic shock. Utopia radiates simplicity. It asserts itself straightaway, affirms and imposes its lines, which are so typical of Pagani but at the same time it is so different from anything they have offered us before. A shape that is more flowing and curvaceous. From the windscreen, with its rounded upper edges, to the details of its wings and bonnet, its softer contours give it a new expression, a new outline. A shape smoothed and refined over a long time, but which sticks in your memory from the first time you see it. The most difficult part of the process for Pagani has been to follow as closely as possible the original intention of creating a timeless design object, instead of one that follows the fashion of the period.

MotoGP, Andrea Dovizioso says goodbye to everyone: The Motor Valley rider is retiring.

Over the course of his long career, Dovi achieved 20 poles, 24 wins, 103 podiums and 3,796 points in all classes. He is the only rider to win a MotoGP race in three different decades in 2000s, 2010s and 2020s placing him as one the MotoGP greats and one of the final two from the class of 2010 to retire from the World Championship. Andrea Dovizioso’s emotional farewell from MotoGP at his home Grand Prix in Misano has truly been a tribute down the memory lane as the whole MotoGP paddock recalls back some of his great battles over 20 years of his racing career.

At the end, it has been a good race. There was a big disaster in front of me at the beginning but I did a good start, I was able to get some positions because a lot of riders crashed. But at the beginning of the race I was always trying but I couldn’t be fast. However, from the middle of the race until the end, I was able to be very consistent. I was very focused on that because I could keep the 12th position.

Variable weather conditions influenced Saturday’s proceedings at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for round 14 of the MotoGP World Championship 2022, which is Andrea Dovizioso’s farewell round after a long and successful Grand Prix career. In his final race, he launched off from P18 on the grid and managed to keep a decent pace throughout all his final 27 laps. Due to several crashes in front of him, he moved up the order already on the first laps and was in 12th on the third lap. Thanks to his strong rhythm, he managed to defend this position over the line to collect some ultimate four points in the MotoGP World Championship.

At the end, I’m happy with that, I’m happy to finish here with the fans and all the people. Thank you very much to everyone.

The most attractive and exclusive Ducati Streetfighter ever produced is a motorcycle that perfectly embodies the values of extreme performance, sportiness and exclusivity shared by Ducati and Lamborghini, two brands of excellence that have contributed to writing the history of Motor Valley and that renew and enhance their collaboration with this special project. The final result is a magical combination of technology, performance and beauty, capable of making fans dream from the very first glance.

The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini

By applying the technical base of the Panigale V4 S ’23 and integrating elements that characterize the DNA of Lamborghini, Ducati has created a hyper-exclusive model. The bike will be produced in a numbered series limited to 630+63 units and it reworks the concepts that gave life to the Lamborghini Huracán STO.

The Huracán STO is the highest-performing model ever made of the Huracán family, a supersports car created with the sole purpose of offering all the sensations of sports driving and the technology of a real racing car in a model approved for road use. An approach with light materials and functional design come together to express outright performance.

The fusion of Lamborghini and Ducati design

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is enhanced by further precious components: adjustable rider foot pegs and lightened brake and clutch levers in billet aluminium (in collaboration with Rizoma), and the heel guards, the saddle pad, dashboard cover and ignition switch cover as well as the sprocket protection made of the special carbon fibre used for the bodywork components. The same carbon fibre is used in parts assigned to heat protection in the covers of the rear head and manifolds of the relative cylinder bank, but also in the headlight support, in the rear mudguard and in the rear subframe guards. The side view of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini is finally also enhanced by the Akrapovič exhaust silencer in titanium with carbon fibre end cap.

630 models of Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini

In addition to the 630 Verde Citrea/Arancio Dac units, Ducati is offering an even more exclusive series of 63 bikes, called Speciale Clienti, which are only available to 63 Lamborghini customers. These customers, through a direct collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati, will be able to configure their Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti with body colours and wheels exactly like their Lamborghini. It will also be possible for them to choose the colours of the brake calipers among those included in the palette (Yellow, Red, Black and California Orange, in addition to the standard colour) and the details of the saddle among the four available versions.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini was unveiled on the occasion of the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix at the Marco Simoncelli World Circuit. The collaboration between Ducati and Lamborghini, which had already given life in 2021 to the Siàn-inspired Diavel 1260 Lamborghini – so successful that it sold out in a few days – will also continue on the MotoGP circuits. In fact, starting from the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix, the shield of the Sant’Agata Bolognese company also appears on the Desmosedici of the Ducati Lenovo Team.

Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship
Spectacular finale of race 2 of the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship. With a great comeback, which allowed them to recover almost 10″, Matteo Cressoni – Kikko Galbiati (Mercedes AMG) took the victory thanks to a decisive attack by Galbiati on the last lap against Alessandro Moncini (Honda NSX), crewed with Jacopo Guidetti. Moncini was then good at keeping his nerve and containing the last attempt of José Manuel Urcera – Daniele Di Amato (Ferrari 488), who thus climbed on the third step of the podium.

TCR Italy
Race 2 of TCR Italy decided in the last three laps due to entry of the Safety Car. Third position under the checkered flag for Cesare Brusa (Hyundai i30 N).

So on the second step of the podium went Matteo Pollini, author of a great comeback after starting from the bottom of the grid. Alessio Salvaggio’s third position was excellent.

The first twist on the third pass, with Silvestrini out at the Variante Gresini in an attempt to resist Montalbano’s attack. Then, in quick succession, Palazzo and Gentili were forced to retire after a contact while in battle with each other, leaving the way clear for Montalbano. MotoGP, Bagnaia takes his fourth consecutive win at Misano Adriatico.

The Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini, which took place this afternoon at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, ended with another thrilling victory for Pecco Bagnaia, who takes his tenth win in MotoGP and sixth this season. For the Italian rider, it was also his fourth consecutive victory this year, an achievement that puts him rightfully in the history of Ducati, being the first rider from the Bologna-based manufacturer to achieve this in MotoGP.

Starting from fifth on the grid, Bagnaia made an excellent start that allowed him to be at the front before moving into the lead after two laps, closely marked by Maverick Viñales. Towards the middle of the race, the Spaniard was overtaken by Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing), who quickly reduced the gap to Bagnaia to cross the line just 34 thousandths behind the fellow Ducati rider. Thanks to today’s victory, Pecco climbs to second place in the overall standings, 30 points behind Quartararo.

It was an unlucky race instead for teammate Jack Miller. The Australian rider, starting from pole, had managed to hold the lead after the start, but on the second lap, he suffered a crash. Miller still managed to rejoin and finish the race in eighteenth place. After the fourteenth round of the season, Jack is sixth in the overall standings, while Ducati and the Ducati Lenovo Team maintain the lead in both the Constructors’ and Teams’ Championships.

The podium in Class 1C (internal combustion cars) was topped by Rennstall Esslingen of UAS Esslingen, scoring high marks in all events. They won both the Design and Cost Events as well as the Endurance and Autocross in Class 1C, thanks to the use of a fan. a solution already seen in F1 in the past, and an agile car that was particularly at home in the more winding parts of the tracks. In second place was FaSTDa Racing Combustion from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, which presented a more conventional but good car. The team took second place in Autocross and Endurance, and in third place was the Unical Reparto Corse team from the University of Calabria, with a well-balanced car that the drivers drove well.

In Class 1E (electric cars)
, FS Team Tallinn of Tallinn UT/UAS triumphed. They had good performances in the dynamic tests, particularly in the Endurance, where they won, and with first place in the Design Event – while second place went to BRS Motorsport of Hochschule Bonn-RheinSieg, runners-up in Endurance 1E and first place in the Autocross. Third place went to the ARUSe team from the University of Seville, with a good placing in the dynamic tests and victory in the Business Presentation Event.

In Class 3 (presentation of the car’s design only)
, the Firenze Race Team from the University of Florence took the top spot, followed in second place by Formula Student FEUP from the University of Porto and in third place by the AAM Driverless Racing Team of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

In Class 1D (Driverless), the first prize went to FS Team Tallinn Driverless from Tallinn UT/UAS. In the dynamic tests, the team had a bit of bad luck and, possibly due to some mistakes, the car also went off the track, but the overall performance was good, as demonstrated particularly with first place in the trackdrive test. Here there is the potential to become a top team in the future. Second place went to UniNa Corse – Squadra Corse Federico II of Naples, the only car among the three on the podium to use a combustion engine. This choice made the driverless challenge more complicated than the electric motor and, therefore, no mean feat to receive this award. In third place, finally, was Squadra Corse Polito DRIVERLESS from the Polytechnic University of Turin, with their first venture with driverless. Despite not having completed any dynamic tests, the validity of the project, which was awarded in the static events (first place in Class 1D in the Cost Event, third in the Design Event and Business Presentation Event), bodes well for participation in future editions.
