SBK in Misano, is a Ducati double on home soil.

It was a fantastic weekend for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team. After a spectacular Race-1, Alvaro Bautista and Michael Rinaldi repeated themselves also on Sunday at the Pirelli Emilia Romagna Round as they celebrated again on the podium in front of their home fans. After securing P2 in the Superpole Race won by Razgatlioglu (Yamaha), Bautista got his second win of the weekend at the end of an exciting Race-2. The Spaniard’s feeling with the Ducati Panigale V4R was evident since the very first corners and allowed him to take the lead on lap 7 after a battle with Toprak to close the race with a wide margin under the chequered flag. Michael Rinaldi – who was forced to start from tenth on the grid after a difficult Superpole Race – was the protagonist of a sensational first lap, n which he recovered six positions. On lap 4, the Italian rider attacked Rea (Kawasaki) and then he quickly defended the third position and his second podium of the weekend.

The words of the two Ducati riders

Alvaro Bautista: “It was a very exciting weekend. The feeling with my Ducati has been excellent since Friday, although, honestly, in the Superpole Race, we had some difficulties. The team did a great job, and in Race-2, I felt comfortable right away. The race for the World Championship title? I am not concerned about the Standings and don’t care about the points lead. I only care about having the feeling that I am on the right path. I am very happy to have given such emotions to all the Ducatisti fans. We have to keep on!”

Michael Rinaldi: “I am very happy. Yesterday’s podium was perhaps unexpected. In Race-2, however, the feelings with the bike were very good. In the Superpole Race, we had a problem that did not allow me to be competitive and forced me to start from tenth on the grid. I got off well, knowing I had all the cards to get to the front. I dedicate this result to my team, to the many Italian fans who support me, and especially to my family.”

Italian GP: Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati triumph in their home Grand Prix at Mugello

It was another dream Sunday for Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati, who scored their second win of the season in front of their home crowd at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. The Italian rider, who started from fifth on the grid, did an incredible race in the MotoGP Italian GP this afternoon at the Tuscan track.

Eighth on the first lap, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider wasted no time, and, after passing Johann Zarco, Brad Binder, Aleix Espargaro and Fabio Di Giannantonio, he was then able to slip past both Luca Marini’s Desmosedici GP and Fabio Quartararo’s Yamaha in a single move, moving up into second. After four laps, Pecco finally passed Marco Bezzecchi as well, gaining the lead of the race, where he stayed until the end, managing his advantage over the Championship leader Quartararo, who finished second. Thanks to today’s result, Bagnaia moves up to the fourth position in the overall standings, 41 points behind the Frenchman. Ducati increases its advantage in the Constructors’ Championship to 59 points, and the Ducati Lenovo Team is now second, just 7 points behind the leader in the Teams’ classification.

On the other hand, Jack Miller finished an unlucky race, only fifteenth. As he got off from the fourth row, the Australian rider had a difficult start, ending up on the grass in an attempt to immediately recover positions. Twenty-second on the first lap, Miller tried to make a comeback but struggled to find his rhythm. After today’s race, Jack drops back to eighth in the Championship, 18 points behind his teammate.

Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team) – 1st

“For us Italians, this is a very important race, so this is definitely a special victory. Mugello is a challenging track, but we worked all weekend perfectly to achieve this result, and we did it. Yesterday in FP3, I destroyed the bike, but my team worked so hard to allow me to use it today in the race, so I have to thank them! After the start, I found myself bottled up, and some riders passed me. I knew that by staying calm, I could make a comeback. I’m happy, and I think we really deserved this win.”

MotoGP, flawless Enea Bastianini pounces to take French glory.

Enea Bastianini is back on the top step of the podium in MotoGP for the third time this year at the end of what was a masterful performance at Le Mans in France. The Gresini Racing star put in a flawless performance in front of over 110,000 spectators to come out on top of a pulsating SHARK Grand Prix de France. The Beast capitalized on a mistake from long-time race leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) to take the maximum 25 points, while Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) celebrated his second podium of the season, with Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro making it three premier class rostrums on the spin.

The win came after an excellent all-round performance from lights to flag: an incredible start, a relentless pace (low 1’32s) and an aggressive second half of the encounter against the official Ducati riders. Courtesy of today’s 25 points, Enea Bastianini is only eight away from current leader Quartararo while consolidating his third place in the standings. These precious points also allow Team Gresini Racing MotoGP to get in the lead of the ‘independent’ team standings and Ducati to be on top of the manufacturers one.

Enea Bastianini’s words

“I’m surprised with this result, which shows the great work done by the whole team. This has been far from an easy weekend as I gave my mechanics plenty of work, but we gave it all on the track and this win is for all of us. We did well in finding the right moment to attack and we scored another key victory. Satellite teams can do really well in this championship, and we’ll continue to keep our heads down ahead of Mugello.”

Lamborghini Squadra Corse presents the new Huracán GT3 EVO2.

Lamborghini presents the new Huracán GT3 EVO2, designed and developed by Squadra Corse of Sant’Agata Bolognese based on the Huracán STO, with which it shares important design elements, rear-wheel drive only, and a naturally aspirated V10 engine, which in the road version delivers 640 horsepower.

The third generation Huracán for GT3 class racing is here

Compared to the Huracán GT3 EVO, which was homologated in 2019 and based on the Huracán EVO road car, the GT3 EVO2 fully complies with the new FIA 2022 technical regulations and features all-new aerodynamic solutions and intake system. The unmistakable hexagonal airscoop design and the rear fin are derived from Huracán STO, contributing to a more efficient intake system and better car balance. The airscoop is connected to a snorkel, replacing the side air intakes, which optimally channels the airflow directly into the engine, resulting in greater responsiveness to the driver’s demands. The introduction of 10 electronically actuated throttle bodies increases the efficiency of the V10 with titanium valves; the entire system, designed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, is fixed to the engine by just four screws, a solution introduced for the first time on the Essenza SCV12, to facilitate maintenance work.

Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team)

“I am moved. The first victory last year at Aragon was certainly very important, but today’s was even more beautiful and much more difficult. We come from a tough period in which, for various reasons, we have never been able to show our real potential, but here I knew that we were in the right conditions to do well. We have been working hard since Qatar, and finally, today, we arrived ready for the race. I pushed really hard and lapped consistently throughout the 25 laps. I’m proud of the work that has been done, not only with my team, which I thank but also at home with the Academy and my family!”

Formula1 will race in Imola until 2025.

Formula 1 is pleased to announce that the Formula 1 Rolex Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola will remain part of the Formula 1 calendar until 2025. This follows two successful Grands Prix in Imola during the pandemic and the inclusion of the race in this year’s championship.

Imola first hosted Grand Prix in 1980 before the track was awarded the honour of hosting the Italian Grand Prix for the first time that year. From 1981, it hosted the famous ‘San Marino’ Grand Prix and hosted a total of 27 races up until 2006. It returned as venue for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in 2020.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said:

“I am delighted that we will be continuing our excellent partnership with Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix until 2025. The circuit is iconic and has been part of the history of our sport and they have done an incredible job of hosting two races during the pandemic. It is a proud moment for our Italian fans to host two races and for all our fans around the world to see this fantastic circuit on the calendar for the future.

I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen and the work of the Emilia-Romagna Region, in particular the President of the Automobile Club of Italy Sticchi Damiani, President of Emilia Romagna Stefano Bonaccini, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the City of Imola. We are all looking forward to being back in Imola in April to thrill our fans.”

President of the Automobile Club of Italy Angelo, Sticchi Damiani said:

“Today’s agreement ratifies the presence of the Formula 1 Rolex Grand Prix of Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola until 2025. Imola, its great history and the strong tie of its territory to the world of engines deserved this recognition. This is not only a great success for sport in Italy but also a great enrichment for the top international motorsport series that has confirmed in its calendar for several years one of the most difficult races, but also the greatest, and the one that’s mostly loved by both drivers and teams.

Of course, the long negotiations carried out by the Automobile Club of Italy managed to achieve the desired goal thanks to the important support received from various local authorities. Among all, I would like to underline the enthusiastic work of the Emilia Romagna Region and its President Stefano Bonaccini”.

President of Emilia Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini, said:

“It’s an extraordinary result for the Emilia-Romagna region and for the Motor Valley. The confirmation that the Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Formula One Grand Prix that will be held at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome in Imola until 2025 is a reward to an important team effort that involved the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ice (i.d. the Italian Trade Agency), the City of Imola, ACI, CON.AMI and Formula One, of course.

After two successfully organized editions, a unique event of great international appeal and absolute prestige was confirmed on the long run along the Via Emilia despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic and while preparations are already underway for the 2022 edition. The event will allow us to turn the spotlight on both a region which is home to great champions and world famous motorsport brands and Italy, a country rich in unique, internationally renowned excellence in all fields, starting from the automotive industry. For us, this is a great source of pride and a precious opportunity to discuss values, knowledge and professionalism that translate first and foremost into work, innovation and the ability to do business together and with great passion.”

The Ducati Lenovo Team is ready to embark on its 20th MotoGP season.

The Ducati Lenovo Team has officially launched its new racing season, presenting the team that will participate in the 2022 MotoGP World Championship, the 20th season for the Borgo Panigale based squad in the premier class. The video has been shared on Ducati and Ducati Corse’s social media platforms and broadcasted simultaneously on the official Ducati and MotoGP websites and YouTube channels. In the video, the voice narrating is that of passion which, combined with talent, skill, dedication and determination, is one of the secret ingredients of the team that has been flying the Italian flag proudly at circuits around the world for 20 years.

Claudio Domenicali (CEO of Ducati Motor Holding)

“There is great excitement for the start of this MotoGP season. After winning our second consecutive Constructors’ World Title, the desire to put ourselves to the test is great. Last season, we decided to focus on a new strategy that has given us great satisfaction, with young and energetic riders who have matured this year, strengthened by the experience gained, and ready to be even more competitive. Two more of our bikes will be added in 2022, bringing the number of Ducati bikes on track worldwide to eight. For the first time in our MotoGP history, the factory team’s Desmosedici GP bikes will have a new Ducati red livery, the same colour as the bikes we sell to our passionate customers. It is a sign and testimony of the ever-closer bond between the bikes we develop for racing and those that every Ducatista can buy. Lenovo is also by our side. In addition to being the title partner of the factory team, it is also an important technology partner with whom we have achieved important goals such as speeding up data collection and analysis that have allowed us to improve decision-making processes on the track. We can’t wait for 6th March to start the season in Qatar and be back cheering all together with the Ducatisti #ForzaDucati!”

Luigi Dall’Igna (General Manager of Ducati Corse)

“We are thrilled to start this new season. In 2021, we achieved important goals by winning our third constructors’ title, our second teams’ title and closing the riders’ Championship in second place with Francesco Bagnaia. Pecco grew a lot during the last Grands Prix of last year, scoring four wins and nine podiums. We are sure that he will be one of the main contenders in the Championship this season. Alongside him will be Jack Miller, who showed his talent on several occasions last year, scoring five podiums, including two thrilling victories, and who, like Pecco, has the potential to challenge for the title. It will not be easy, and we know that the fight in the Championship will be even fiercer. There are several strong riders, and the other manufacturers have certainly worked during the winter to make their package even more competitive. However, we have also been working hard over the past few months to give Pecco and Jack a Desmosedici GP 22 bike that will allow them to be main contenders in every race and any condition. It’s going to be a very challenging season with twenty-one Grands Prix currently confirmed, but we’re ready and looking forward to getting on track to reap the benefits of our hard work.”

Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team)

“I’m happy for the start of this new season. We’ve ended 2021 on a high, and I hope to continue 2022 from where we left off last year. My team and I have grown a lot since then. I feel good with my team, and I’m sure that we can do great things together. The Desmosedici GP in this new colour is even more beautiful, and I can’t wait to get back to racing with it. The goal for this season will be, as always, to constantly improve and be competitive in every race. We’ll aim to bring the MotoGP riders’ title, as well as the teams’ and manufacturers’ titles, back to Borgo Panigale”.

Jack Miller (#43 Ducati Lenovo Team)

“The Championship is finally about to start, and I feel ready more than ever to face this new season. Having another year of experience in MotoGP under my belt definitely makes me feel stronger, and I feel I have improved a lot, both physically and mentally, compared to 2021. It will be my second year with the Ducati Lenovo Team, a group of people who are really passionate about Motorsports, and I feel lucky to be part of it. Being a factory Ducati rider is a source of pride, and it means having the support of many fans, not only in Italy but also all over the world. I can’t wait for March and be able to head out on track for the first race of the year in Qatar!”

9 new Ducati models for 2022

For 2022, Ducati presented nine new models to the public during the Ducati World Première web series, helping to create an even more complete range ready to satisfy the desires of every type of motorcyclist. Expectations are particularly high for the DesertX, the Ducati bike designed to tackle the most demanding off-roads with 21″ front and 18″ rear wheels, long suspension travel and ample ground clearance. A motorcycle that takes Ducati into a whole new world, a symbol of how the brand can widen its horizons without losing its roots and its sporting identity, as proven by the Panigale V4 which, in its latest evolutionary step, becomes the closest vehicle to a MotoGP bike that a motorcyclist can ride.

Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO:

“2021 was a magical year for Ducati. We delivered over 59,000 motorcycles, a number never achieved before in 95 years of the company’s history. We also won the title of MotoGP Constructors’ World Champion for the second consecutive year, and we started the electric era of our company with the V21L prototype, which foresees the bike that will race in the MotoE championship from 2023. The pandemic, which is still underway, in addition to generating so much suffering, has also made activities more complex, forcing us to conduct a continuous internal reorganization. Supply chains created delivery delays for which I want to apologize to all Ducatisti, thanking them for their patience. Despite all these difficulties, the desire to excel of our employees here in Borgo Panigale and in our subsidiaries around the world helped us to achieve these record results. We are investing in an extremely ambitious growth path that will lead the company to improve even further, by entering new market segments. With the DesertX we will have from this year on an extremely attractive proposal for adventure fans, and other ambitious projects are currently in development. The core values of the brand – Style, Sophistication, Performance and Trust – are more current than ever. Future growth will take place in compliance with these values, offering our enthusiastic customers products that are increasingly representative with a unique mix of beauty, technology and distinctiveness, such as the best of Made in Italy.”
