Varano racetrack: from July 12 to 16, the Formula SAE returns

From July 12 to 16, the "R. Paletti" Autodrome in Varano de' Melegari (Parma, Italy) will host the 18th edition of the famous international technical-sports competition dedicated to engineering students. The event represents a highly formative experience for tomorrow's aspiring engineers, who are put to the test at the level of organizational skills, time management, team-working and illustration of the technical choices of the presented project.

Among the main novelties of this edition is the admission of nonplug-in hybrid cars in Class 1C reserved for combustion cars. Another important novelty is the presence of an official event regulation, revised to facilitate the participation of students who also measure themselves against other European formula students.

The last edition of the event, which took place in July 2022, saw the participation of about 1,700 students divided into 64 teams from 18 different countries. There were 2o Italian teams from 15 university universities.

The event also owes much of its success to the support of companies in the automotive and motorsport supply chain: in the last edition, there were 29 sponsors and 3 technical partners, in addition to 3 media partners and the patronage of the Emilia Romagna Region, the Municipality of Varano de' Melegari and the Province of Parma. Once again for this 18th edition, the new range of sponsorship packages will enable companies to make the most of recruitment opportunities vis-à-vis participating students, as well as create valuable networks among the companies themselves.
