Ravenna, the capital of three empires, boasts as many as 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites on its territory (virtual tours). Ravenna is a city of gold, like the glow of its early Christian Byzantine mosaics. And it is also the city that houses the tomb of Dante Alighieri, whose 700th anniversary of his death, which occurred in Ravenna on September 14, 1321, will be celebrated in 2021. Outside the city, against the backdrop of the gullies of the Parco della Verna del Gesso Romagnola, you reach Riolo Terme, which has an Art Nouveau spa center and a cave known since prehistoric times: the Grotta di Re Tiberio (King Tiberius Cave).

Another karst cave is Tanaccia in the vicinity of the village of Brisighella, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy: not to be missed is a walk along the Via degli Asini and then up to the Fortress and the Clock Tower. Not far away is Faenza, the capital of ceramics with the MIC – Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche. Moving towards the coast, we find Milano Marittima, a garden city immersed in a pine forest, and Cervia with its millenary Salina, where sweet salt is born and flamingos nest; why not go and discover it by bike, pedaling along the Via del Sale?
