Rimini

To discover the ancient Roman Ariminum, one need only walk around the city: the Tiberius Bridge, the Arch of Augustus, the Surgeon’s Domus, the ancient Forum in Piazza Tre Martiri, and the Amphitheater.

But Rimini also has a Renaissance soul, which can still be seen thanks to the Malatesta Temple, which houses Piero della Francesca’s fresco dedicated to Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta and the crucifix painted by Giotto, and the Malatesta-era Castel Sismondo, which will be home to the new museum dedicated to Federico Fellini, an icon of international cinema who was born in Rimini in 1920. Outside the city is the peaceful Marecchia Valley and Montefeltro with its landscapes (which served as the backdrop for famous Renaissance paintings) and scenic villages, including San Leo, Verucchio, and Pennabilli. Along the coast are the seaside towns of Cattolica, Misano, Riccione, Borgo San Giuliano with its poetic murals, and Bellaria Igea Marina, where all it takes is a piadina and a glass of Sangiovese for it to be an instant party.
