The Fondazione MIMAS aims to promote the preservation of historic and vintage vehicles in order to safeguard the historical and cultural memory of a specific period of the twentieth century — a tangible testimony of a past that cannot be forgotten, a time when what was once deemed impossible became possible, with mechanics at the very core of this development.
At the same time, the Fondazione MIMAS embodies a union of history, art, design, mechanics, and passion; it stands as direct evidence of human ingenuity and the technological evolution of the sector. Preserving and restoring these vehicles means keeping alive the memory of an era and passing down to future generations the appreciation for mechanics, design, and their cultural significance. Promoting the collection of documentation, as well as the study and dissemination of their history, fosters culture, creativity, ingenuity, and innovation tied to this field — with a particular focus on the Motor Valley, of which we are proudly a part.
The foundation also seeks to highlight the identity of its founding members, supporting members, and all those who, in any capacity, contribute to the preservation, maintenance, and promotion of these assets. Equally, it values those who wish to collaborate in spreading the history of locomotion by organizing exhibitions, conferences, and other such events —occasions to explore new paths, exchange experiences, and share one’s passion. Historic vehicles represent a cultural, artistic, technical, and historical heritage of inestimable value, where Italian genius has left an indelible mark on the entire world.
You can find the Fondazione MIMAS at its temporary headquarters in Via Poiano 1B – 40026 Imola.
