The Federazione Motociclistica Italiana is one of the 45 National Sports Federations recognized by CONI. It was created to develop, control, promote and protect all motorcycle activities, sporting and non-sporting, on Italian territory, and is the only body authorized to represent them in the international arena.

For more than 100 years at the side of Italian motorcyclists.

Turning motorcyclists’ needs into challenges and challenges into satisfaction. The FMI was founded in 1911 as the Moto Club d’Italia, and since then it has never stopped standing by motorcyclists to create new opportunities and safety standards.

The Federazione today

Today, the FMI focuses on the industry’s sport specialties, but also on the public and the spread of a rule- and environment-friendly culture.
On the one hand, it organizes championships in each specialty, coordinates projects dedicated to research and talent support, and promotes sport as entertainment. On the other, it develops the sectors of Vintage, Motorcycle Tourism and Road Education.

Vintage and Motorcycle Tourism

Vintage Motorcycles and the Historical Registry interest thousands of enthusiasts all along the peninsula, motorcyclists who want to try their hand at dedicated sporting events or who have the desire to try their hand at riding their own vintage vehicle.

The FMI is involved in organizing motorcycle events and rallies to promote the culture of two-wheelers throughout the country.

Road traffic education

The Federazione Motociclistica Italiana’s Safe Riding courses are dedicated to all motorcyclists and are divided into two categories: on-road and on-off. Followed by FMI instructors, specially trained by the Technical Sector, participants will be actively involved in theoretical sessions in the classroom while, during practice, they will receive instruction and advice related to their technique.

Activities dedicated to the youngest children are also organized, with free Primi Passi and Hobby Sport courses, thanks to which all children from 6 years of age can safely take their first ride on a motorcycle.
