MotoGP World Championship 2025: Marc Márquez and Ducati on top of the world!

Marquez hug is MotoGP trophy.

At the Japanese Grand Prix, Marc Márquez crowned an extraordinary season on the Desmosedici GP, clinching the Riders’ Championship with five races to spare. A triumph that underlines Ducati’s dominance in the premier class of motorcycle racing.

Unprecedented Ducati Dominance

This is Ducati’s fourth consecutive Riders’ Championship, achieved with three different riders in four years: Francesco Bagnaia (2022–2023), Jorge Martín (2024), and now Marc Márquez (2025). The team also secured its sixth consecutive Constructors’ Championship, proving that the Desmosedici GP remains the bike to beat in MotoGP.

Márquez’s season has been phenomenal: 14 Sprint wins, 11 GP victories, 10 double wins in a season—including 7 consecutive. With a 201-point lead over the runner-up, he now holds the longest streak of combined wins in modern MotoGP.

Behind the scenes: the work of a champion team

“Today we celebrate a team that never stops surprising,” said Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO. “From the outside, success may seem natural, but behind every victory there is constant dedication: design, simulations, testing, and race strategy. Every detail makes the difference.”

Ducati’s triumph is built behind the scenes: 100,000+ hours of design, 11,000+ hours of HPC calculations and simulations, 2,500 engine and aerodynamics CFD cycles, 5,000 dyno tests, 48 race engines produced, 80+ engine changes managed, and 200 hours of on-track testing with Michele Pirro. Truly, an extraordinary team effort.

Domenicali also highlighted the riders: “With Marc, the connection was immediate, and Francesco Bagnaia’s performance in Japan made the weekend even more special. Every detail counts toward victory.”
