The Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum chronicles Ferruccio’s life through his mechanical creations and an extensive family photo archive. This space, conceived and designed by entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini to celebrate the figure of his father, was opened in 2014.
The museum’s 9,000 square meters contain Ferruccio’s entire industrial production, from the first Carioca tractor, with which he started his first company in 1947, to all the most important models of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. An exciting tour illustrates both the Eng. Honoris causa Lamborghini’s personal collection of cars, including the legendary Miura SV, and his most famous car productions, such as the famous Fiat Barchetta Sport modified to take part in the 1948 Mille Miglia, the futuristic Countach, the Jarama examples, the Urraco and the gull-wing opening Espada that inspired the car in the film “Back to the Future.”
The visit cannot end without a mention of the history of the prototype helicopter and the 13.5-meter Fast 45 Diablo Class 1 offshore, powered by an 11-time Lamborghini world champion engine. The reconstruction of Ferruccio’s first office at Lamborghini Tractors with his personal belongings, official documents and photos of the time will plunge you into the history of Italy’s economic boom of the 1950s-60s, to remember not only Ferruccio’s stories, but also those of the Lamborghini family and thousands of people who worked in his companies.
