The space economy is already a massive and rapidly growing industry, expected to triple by 2035. It is no longer a purely governmental sector, but an ecosystem open to private companies as well.
The key competencies of the Motor Valley — advanced materials, simulation, aerodynamics, testing, and lightweight design — are perfectly transferable to space. The transition is therefore closer than it may seem, but it requires adapting to new rules: longer timelines, more rigorous standards, new partners and risk models, as well as access to dedicated funding.
The panel aims to create a concrete dialogue between the automotive and space sectors, highlighting opportunities that are already available for companies in the district, not just future scenarios.
