Italian Air Force Brigadier General (Res.) Alessio Grasso served in the Italian Air Force from 1988 to 2021, specializing in airworthiness, procurement, and international defense cooperation. Since February 2021, he has led the Aerospace & Defense Business Unit at Dallara, where he focuses on transferring advanced technologies and processes from the motorsport sector into aerospace, space, and defense applications.
Over his career, he held senior roles including Director of the Naples and Milan Territorial Technical Offices of the National Armaments Directorate, overseeing military aviation procurement and government quality assurance for A&D industries across central and southern Italy. He previously headed Industrial Participations for Italy’s JSF Program Office, served as Assistant Defense and Defense Cooperation Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Washington managing FMS and DCS procurement, and contributed to key international airworthiness standards through NATO and the European Defence Agency. An aeronautical engineer and aircraft accident investigator, he has combined operational experience on transport fleets (C‑130J, C‑27J) with high‑level policy, regulatory, and industrial coordination responsibilities.
