UNIPR Racing Team

The UniPR Racing Team is a university project that was set up in 2007 by a group of engineering students who, thanks to the invaluable support of the University of Parma, were able, with commitment and sacrifice, to enter the world of Formula SAE, creating a single-seater racing car completely independently. The UniPR Racing Team’s first participation in an official event took place in 2007 at the FSAE Italy on the Fiorano circuit, immediately finishing on the podium for best design.

The excellent results in the following years led the team to the important decision to enter the Electric category. A project that lasted two years. Definitely ambitious but cutting-edge and totally forward-looking from a Green point of view. An issue that has always involved the University of Parma and that has seen its most successful environmental campaign in the creation of our PSR01, officially the first ready-to-race electric car.

The team then embarked on a path of optimisation culminating in the second PSR02 electric single-seater and later the third PSR02-s, which brought the best results in the history of the UniPR Racing Team. After 16th place at the FS East 2021 event at the Hungaroring, 5th place in the overall ranking during the Italian FSAE Italy 2021 stage, the team managed to achieve 14th place at the FS Netherlands 2022 event at the TT Circuit in Assen and an excellent 8th place at the FS Czech 2022 event.

The experience gained enabled the team for the 2022/2023 season to develop a new electric car, the PSR23, which proved to be extremely reliable and competitive in the FSAE Italy leg: 3rd place overall in the endurance event and 8th place in the overall ranking.

These excellent results have laid a solid foundation for a further step forward in terms of innovation and ambition. For the 2023/2024 season, the UniPR Racing Team will present its first self-driving car that will participate in the Formula Student championship in the Driverless category.
