A moment of exceptional significance for the history of international motorsport: Giampaolo Dallara has been inducted into the prestigious Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) Hall of Fame.

The IMS Hall of Fame welcomes individuals who, through their hard work, dedication, and pioneering vision, have contributed significantly to the history of the famous Indianapolis circuit and the development of auto racing in the United States.

This major recognition crowns the solid presence and long-standing contribution of Ing. Dallara to the development of open-wheel racing overseas. Since 2012, the company based in Varano de’ Melegari has been the exclusive chassis supplier for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, a journey driven by a constant commitment to engineering, safety, and performance, which has deeply shaped the evolution of the championship.

The induction ceremony

The official induction took place during the IMS Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, held at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Alongside Dallara, this year’s honors also went to Scott Dixon, multiple-time winner of the legendary Indianapolis 500. The ceremony brought together institutions, industry leaders, and members of the international motorsport community to pay tribute to two careers that embody excellence and innovation in racing.

The enduring bond between Dallara and American motorsport

Today, Dallara’s presence in the United States extends far beyond IndyCar, encompassing categories such as Indy NXT and IMSA, with programs involving global manufacturers like Cadillac and BMW, alongside historic collaborations with NASCAR.

Founded in 1972 by Giampaolo Dallara and led today alongside Andrea Pontremoli (Partner, CEO, and President of Motor Valley), the company employs over 900 people worldwide, with around 100 operating in its US facilities.

The Dallara Experience Hub in Speedway, Indiana, serves as the nerve center for these North American operations. It acts as a technological and cultural bridge that also extends to education, thanks to the strong relationships developed by the company with Purdue University in the United States and, in Italy, with the MUNER university network.

With this induction into the Hall of Fame, Giampaolo Dallara firmly establishes his status as a global benchmark in the design and development of high-performance racing cars.
