ASI MOTOSHOW 2024 DATES ANNOUNCED
MOTORCYCLE HISTORY RETURNS TO THE TRACK FROM MAY 3 TO 5
Preparations are in full swing for the 21st edition of ASI MotoShow, scheduled for May 3 to 5, 2024, at the "Riccardo Paletti" racetrack in Varano de' Melegari, where the history of world motorcycling can be experienced and rediscovered, from its origins to the present day. The event, organized by the Automotoclub Storico Italiano since 2002, has now achieved great notoriety abroad as well: thousands of historic motorcycles will invade the Varano track and in the paddocks you can admire thematic exhibitions, meet the great champions of all times and experience the magical atmosphere of the most genuine and passionate motorcycling.
ASI MotoShow, whose motto is "The history of motorcycles on the track," gathers thousands of motorcycles of all times and types, transforming the racetrack paddock into a true dynamic museum. From its origins to the dawn of the third millennium, from the smallest and handiest motorcycles to racing motorcycles, from pre-war "undercannons" to the rabid "125s" of the 1990s: the parterre of ASI MotoShow, which counts participants from all over Europe and even overseas, is undoubtedly among the richest and most complete to illustrate more than a century of evolution on two wheels.
ASI MotoShow is not a competition, but a reenactment of motorcycle history. For the track performances, the bikes are divided into homogeneous categories, either by age or performance: the "antique veterans" from the origins to 1918, the "vintage" from 1919 to 1930, the "post vintage" from 1931 to 1945, the "classic" from 1946 to 1960, the "post classic" from 1961 to 1970, and the "modern". The motorcycles are also joined each year by the protagonists of world motorcycling, starting with the great champions who have helped fuel the passion of millions.
The program and content of the 21st edition already promises to be of great interest, starting with the Laverda tribute to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding. ASI MotoShow will be the ideal stage for a large international gathering and thematic exhibitions curated by the Laverda Moto Museum and the Moto Club Breganze. In addition, Giovanni Laverda will be the keynote speaker at the conference entitled "Origins and Development of the Laverda 750," while his son Piero will reveal the background of the "1000 V6" project developed in the 1970s for the World Endurance Championship.
