Umberto Zapelloni

Umberto Zapelloni began writing about basketball while studying Economics and Business. In 1984, he joined Il Giornale founded by Indro Montanelli, where, after a few years, he became a correspondent covering Formula 1 circuits and the Olympic Games.
After Schumacher’s first World Championship title with Ferrari, he moved to Corriere della Sera, where, after a year as Formula 1 correspondent, he became head of the sports desk and later of the motoring desk.
In 2006, he joined La Gazzetta dello Sport, where he served as Deputy Editor until 2018.
In recent years, he has been responsible for the motoring and sports supplements of Il Foglio. He is also a commentator on Race Anatomy on Sky and covers Formula 1 for Il Giornale and ACI Radio.
He has written several books on the world of motorsport and Ferrari.
