Michele Bertoncello

Partner McKinsey & Company

Michele Bertoncello is a Partner in the Milan Office, where he also holds the role of co-leader of the Advanced Industries Practice for the Mediterranean area.

For the past seventeen years Michele has been assisting large industrial companies, mainly in the automotive sector, focusing on strategy, product development, customer experience and future mobility projects. Michele is one of the founding members of the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility, within which he coordinates global studies on vehicle connectivity and is currently involved in research activities on mobility scenarios that will emerge by 2030 and the use of data collected from connected cars.

Michele actively supports the Motor Valley Observatory in order to identify innovation topics to increase the competitiveness of car manufacturers and suppliers in the Motor Valley.

Most recently, he has been involved in projects such as managing the merger process between global players in the automotive industry; developing the technology strategy for connectivity and autonomous driving services for a new entrant in the automotive market; defining the human-machine interface (HMI) strategy for a globally operating car manufacturer; developing the strategic plan for a telematics company; and transforming the business strategy for a leading luxury car manufacturer.

Prior to starting her career at McKinsey, Michele furthered her studies at New York University, George Washington University and Harvard University, after earning a Master's degree in Science of General Management and a Bachelor's degree in Economics of International Markets and New Technologies at Bocconi University in Milan.
