Riccardo De Filippi has built a distinguished career in the motorsport industry, with his journey commencing at Magneti Marelli Motorsport as an electronic developer specializing in digital control systems. His initial role involved applying his academic expertise at Alfa Romeo within the ITC, then the evolution of the DTM, where he developed gear control systems.
In 2000, Riccardo expanded his professional horizons by moving to Germany to join Toyota Formula 1. There, he served as the Head of Electronic Control Development, gaining invaluable experience by overseeing the development of cutting-edge control systems. His time with Toyota was marked by exposure to a rich tapestry of cultures, working in a team that boasted members from 35 different nationalities. This unique environment, which he recalls fondly, greatly enriched his professional acumen.
Riccardo returned to Magneti Marelli in 2006, resuming his focus on software development within the company. This transition allowed him to combine his supplier-side expertise with his client-side experience, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the business spectrum. Over the subsequent years, he took on increasing responsibilities, notably leading research and development in product innovation, which culminated in his appointment as the Head of the Motorsport Division in 2018.
