Piernicola Ruggiero is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer, graduated from the University of Pisa, with expertise in Systems Engineering, particularly in the design of radar sensors and radar signal processing techniques. Throughout his career, he has led the design of numerous radar systems and has been involved in the full life cycle of several radar-based products, primarily for the railway market.
For the past fifteen years, he has also worked on the design of railway signalling systems and conducted RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) analyses.
Piernicola is driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to promoting knowledge-sharing in the workplace. He has an analytical mindset, is highly determined and goal-oriented, and is always eager to learn and create.
As Head of Radar Systems at MerMec Engineering in San Piero a Grado (Pisa), he oversees both R&D projects and new product development, with a strong focus on the professional and personal growth of his team.
He is currently focused on the next generation of miniaturized radar-based safety systems.
