Born in 1973 in Bordeaux, France, Philippe Tramond pursued engineering studies at the Ecole Polytechnique before specializing in materials science at SupAero, the major French aeronautical and space engineering school. After an internship at Michelin’s R&D Center in Greenville, SC, he began his career at Michelin in 2000, working on non-pneumatic mobility and then on passenger car tire design, notably in Brazil. For five years, he led the global development of new casing technologies for Michelin Group’s passenger car tires, promoting the use of recycled materials. Since 2023, he has been Technical Director of Michelin’s Motorsport division, where one of the main missions is to accelerate sustainable innovation.
Married and father of four children, Philippe lives in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and dedicates his free time to his family and outdoor activities.
