Mattia Violi has built a career spanning high-level simulation engineering and strategic leadership in AI, with a consistent trajectory from technical expertise to business leadership. 

After his early years at Piaggio Group (2006) as a Simulation Engineer—where he developed dynamic models for automatic motorcycle transmissions—he moved to Ferrari (2009) as a CFD Engineer, focusing on the optimization of fuel injection models for high-performance engines.
 
Since 2010, he has been with HPE COXA, where he has followed a path of continuous growth. He started as a Simulation Engineer and Team Leader, specializing in 3D CFD and engine performance optimization in the motorsport sector. In 2018, he became Head of Thermofluid Simulation Department, leading a multidisciplinary team working on 1D/3D CFD, combustion, and advanced computational methods for the development of internal combustion and electric powertrains. 
Since 2020, following the company’s transition into HPE Group, he has held the role of Head of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Manufacturing, reporting directly to the CEO. In this position, he leads the strategic development of the AI business—from client acquisition and Proofs of Concept to the management of complex R&D programs—with responsibilities including business cases, budgeting, partnerships, technical recruiting, and scalable product development. He also serves as an AI advisor on complex projects and actively contributes to European initiatives on Edge AI applied to the automotive and energy sectors.
