A third-generation entrepreneur, he joined the family business in Rezzato in 1977 while continuing his studies, which led him to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. Under his leadership, the company—founded in 1919 by his maternal grandfather—has grown into an international industrial group with over 3,900 employees and a turnover exceeding €800 million in 2024.
The core business of OMR Automotive is the production of components for passenger cars, industrial vehicles, and earth-moving machinery, a sector in which the company has established itself as a key partner for major global brands. Clients include Ferrari, Stellantis, VW-Audi, Mercedes-AMG, BMW, General Motors, Ford, Renault, Automobili Lamborghini, Lotus, Jaguar, Dallara, Maserati, Aston Martin, Iveco, CNH Industrial, Scania, John Deere, Dana, Caterpillar, Same, Rotax, and Piaggio.
The group is also active in the healthcare, real estate, and financial services sectors. The internationalization process, launched in 1998 with Brazil and Morocco, expanded in 2007 to India, in 2008 to China, and continued in 2016 with entry into the United States. Today, OMR has 10 plants in Italy and 6 abroad.
He holds numerous leadership roles within group companies: he is Chairman and CEO of OMR Holding SpA, Officine Meccaniche Rezzatesi Srl, F.M.B. Srl, Nuova Tecno-delta SpA, OMR Fonderia San Felice Srl, OMR Morocco, OMR China, and Banca Santa Giulia SpA. He is also Vice Chairman and CEO of HPE Srl, COXA SpA, and Casa di Cura Villa Gemma SpA, as well as CEO of OMR Rovereto SpA, OMR Bagla Automotive Systems (India), and OMR Componentes Automotivos (Brazil), and Board Member of Inter Car SpA.
From 2013 to 2017 he served as President of the Brescia Industrial Association (now Confindustria Brescia), after having been its Vice President; from 2017 to 2021 he led Confindustria Lombardia, and until 2023 he was a member of the General Council of national Confindustria. Since April 2023, he has been an elected member of the General Council of ANFIA.
He has also held important roles in sports, trade fairs, and institutional contexts: President of the AIB Young Entrepreneurs Group (1985–1988), of Pala EIB (Trade Fair Authority), and of the Leonessa sports club.
In the philanthropic field, he established within the Fondazione Comunità Bresciana the “Carlo Bonometti Fund,” now “Silvana and Carlo Bonometti Fund,” dedicated to initiatives for young people and vulnerable groups. He is also President of the “Olgiati-Luzzago” Foundation, which manages the Liceo Luzzago in Brescia and promotes projects of educational excellence and school innovation.
