He holds a PhD in Economics and is Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Ferrara, where he teaches Applied Economics and Advanced Development Economics. He has always been involved in applied field research, with a particular interest in industrial and territorial dynamics and the economy of knowledge and innovation.
He has coordinated numerous research projects at the Italian and European levels on the topics of innovation, the science-industry relationship, and the dynamics of industrial sectors and sub-sectors. He has published several books on these topics and lectured nationally, Europeanly, and internationally.
