Jacopo Ferretti is a Ph.D. student in Power Electronics at the University of Bologna and conducts his research activities at HPE, an engineering company in Modena, part of the HPE Group.
He obtained a Master’s degree in Electric Vehicle Engineering from the Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna (MUNER) and a Bachelor’s degree in Automation and Information Engineering from the Polytechnic University of the Marche (UNIVPM).
His Ph.D. focuses on the application of wide bandgap semiconductors in the automotive field. His research interests include the simulation of power electronic converters, the control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM), and the evaluation of semiconductor reliability.
He is currently involved in several European projects dedicated to the development of power converters based on wide bandgap semiconductors and the analysis of fault prediction using artificial intelligence.
