Daniele Pucci is an Italian roboticist and one of Europe’s leading experts in humanoid robotics. He is CEO of Generative Bionics, a spin-off of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) developing a new generation of humanoid robots based on Physical AI for applications in manufacturing and healthcare.
He holds a PhD in Systems Engineering and built his career at IIT, where he led the Dynamic Interaction Control Laboratory and later headed the Department of Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence. His research has focused on advanced humanoid platforms such as iCub and ergoCub, with particular emphasis on locomotion and dynamic physical interaction between robots and their environments. Pucci also led the development of iRonCub, the world’s first jet-powered flying humanoid robot, opening a new research direction in aerial humanoid robotics.
Today, through both his academic and entrepreneurial work, he focuses on accelerating the deployment of autonomous humanoid robots and expanding their real-world applications across industry. He has been named among the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Europe and the Fortune Italia 40 Under 40.
