Expo by Bugatti Automobili Campogalliano APS Association

Expo

Piazza Mazzini, Modena

The Bugatti Automobili Campogalliano APS Association, founded in 2021 with the aim of protecting, promoting, and preserving the history of Bugatti in Campogalliano, has been officially welcomed into Motor Valley Development, the organization that brings together the main players in the Emilia-Romagna automotive sector.

This important recognition, awarded after four years of tireless activity and 30 years after the bankruptcy of Bugatti Automobili S.p.A., officially brings the history of Bugatti in Campogalliano into the Motor Valley—alongside the region’s iconic brands, collections, museums, and organizations—right where the legendary EB110 was built between 1990 and 1995.
“Finally, Bugatti of Campogalliano has a place on the map of the Land of Motors,” said Ezio Pavesi, former caretaker of the “Blue Factory” until 2022 and Vice President of the Association. “Our tireless work as guardians of the Blue Factory has found purpose and lives on through the association. I’m moved—thank you, Motor Valley.”

The association was created to support the work of Ezio Pavesi and his family, caretakers of the Blue Factory since its opening. Activities began in 2021 at the original Campogalliano plant with a major event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the EB110.
In 2022, like its longtime guardian, the association had to leave the Blue Factory, which has since fallen into a state of abandonment and vandalism. However, passion and dedication never waned. Backed by an archive of over 1,000 items—including documents, technical drawings, photographs, VHS tapes, R&D components, and more, collected from former employees and enthusiasts—the association has continued to pass on this unique legacy.

Over the years, it has contributed to university theses, historical publications, and various cultural events. The association also took part in three consecutive editions of the Motor Valley Fest in Modena:

– 2022: with an EB110 and a historical exhibit
– 2023: with the ultra-rare EB112, a 1993 prototype
– 2024: with a carbon fiber chassis of the EB110—the first road car to adopt it—accompanied by the engine’s first mock-up and final block, to showcase the development of this pioneering project
To celebrate its entry into Motor Valley Development, the association will return for Motor Valley Fest 2025 (June 5–8) with an unpublished photo exhibition dedicated to the Blue Factory, its history, its caretakers, and the association’s mission. The journey begins in 1989, traces the 1995 bankruptcy, follows the dedication of Ezio Pavesi, Lorena Dondi (his wife and first caretaker), and their family, up to the 2019 presentation of the Centodieci and the association’s most recent activities.

At the center of the exhibition will be a true standout: EB110 GT chassis no. 31, which won its class at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on May 25, 2025. An extraordinary car—testament to the excellence achieved in Campogalliano—returning to Modena to be honored together with former employees and fans.
