Franco Fenoglio

Board Member Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane


Born in Pinerolo in 1953, Franco Fenoglio is one of the most influential managers in the transport and logistics sectors in recent decades.
Throughout his long career, Fenoglio has held various executive roles in globally renowned companies.
From 1991 to 2005, he worked at Iveco Fiat S.p.A., first as Head of Commercial Operations, then as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, with responsibility for the entire commercial process for commercial and industrial vehicles, buses, engines, and services.

He was eventually appointed Executive Vice President of International Operations and Business Development, overseeing strategic non-European markets (Asia Pacific, India, China, Australia, Turkey, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America), as well as business development activities and joint ventures with international partners.
In 2005, Sergio Marchionne appointed him President and CEO of New Holland Construction Equipment, part of the CNH Group. Fenoglio moved to Chicago for three years, taking on global market responsibilities.
In January 2008, he joined Piaggio as General Manager of the Commercial Vehicles Division, with global responsibilities.
In 2012, he joined Scania, becoming President and CEO of Italscania.

From 2015 to 2020, he also served as Chairman of the Industrial Vehicles Section of UNRAE, the association representing foreign manufacturers operating in the Italian market for cars, commercial and industrial vehicles, buses, caravans, and motorhomes.
Since 2021, he has served as Senior Advisor to the CEO at Octo Telematics – The European House Ambrosetti.
Also in 2021, he became legal representative of Femar Consulting, focusing on business consulting.
That same year, he joined the Board of Directors of Rolfo S.p.A., a global leader in the production of vehicle transport equipment.
In 2022, he became a member of the Board of Directors of Italferr, part of the Italian State Railways Group, and was appointed General Advisor of Rolfo Holding S.r.l.
From 2023 to 2024, he was appointed by Confindustria Cuneo to coordinate the Large Enterprises Working Group.
As of June 2024, he has been a Board Member of Ferrovie dello Stato Holding.
In October 2024, he joined the Board of Directors of Baglioni S.p.A., a global leader in the production of pressure equipment for storage and processing in the compressed air, air treatment and filtration, oil & gas, and hydrogen sectors.
Since December 2024, he has also been a member of the Regional Transport and Logistics Commission of Confindustria Piemonte.
Fenoglio holds a degree in Political Science with an economic focus from the University of Turin.
In 2003, he was awarded an honorary degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Industrial Technology from ISFOA.
He is married and has one son.
Throughout his career, he has received multiple awards and honors, including:

2018 – Awarded “CEO of the Year – Automotive Innovation” at the Le Fonti Innovation Awards, promoted by the media company Le Fonti under the high patronage of the European Commission

2019 – “Fabio Montanaro Award – Person of the Year” by Trasportare Oggi in Europa
