Antonio Gioli

Founder of GBPA ARCHITECTS

Antonio Gioli was born in Livorno, but it was in Milan that he shaped his professional path, turning his passion for architecture into a career that led him to travel, design, and build around the world. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano, he began his journey by collaborating with some of the most renowned Milan-based firms, immersing himself in international-scale projects. It was during these years that he started engaging with fast-growing markets such as China, where he had the opportunity to work on large-scale developments—ranging from the renovation of existing buildings to the ground-up design of new architectural complexes.
In 2006, together with architect Federica De Leva, he founded GBPA ARCHITECTS, a venture born from the desire to shape a shared vision of architecture—one that balances aesthetics, functionality, and innovation. In just a few years, the firm established itself as a key player in the real estate and design world, working with international developers and iconic brands such as Porsche, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Armani, and Birra Peroni. Among the most notable automotive projects is the Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta—the largest in the world—designed by Gioli.
Driven by a desire to explore new horizons, in 2015 he opened a London branch of the practice. Then, in 2024, came a new milestone: the opening of an office in Singapore, the beating heart of Southeast Asia and a strategic hub to continue exporting GBPA’s architectural vision to an increasingly global context.
Alongside architecture, Antonio has nurtured another lifelong passion: automotive and motorsport. From his early laps on the track in training formulas like Formula Ford, to competing in touring car and rally championships, he has personally experienced the adrenaline of racing. Over the years, he also dedicated himself to a long-standing role as a high-performance and defensive driving instructor at some of the most prestigious driving schools in Italy.
