Pierpaolo Biffali has worked for 25 years in engine development and industrialisation. He started his career as a diesel engineer for automotive applications at Fiat Group and in 2007 he joined the industrial branch of the company, contributing since then to the design and optimisation of powertrains for commercial vehicles, and agricultural and construction equipment.

As Head of Product Engineering at FPT Industrial, Iveco Group’s brand specialised in advanced propulsion technologies, Pierpaolo Biffali is steering the brand through a wave of transformation, incorporating cutting edge technologies to meet modern challenges such as sustainability, energy efficiency and compliance with evolving environmental standards.

To ensure the success of this shift the company is leveraging its multi-energy approach, developing and deploying a diverse range of technologies powered by alternative fuels, hydrogen and fully electric powertrains which contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact of the transport industry.
