Paolo Basso is a Managing Director and Head of Italy Global Capital Markets and Head of Southern Europe Corporate Fixed Income Capital Markets.

He has more than 25 years of experience in debt capital raisings, structured finance, balance sheet optimization and risk management initiatives for corporate and bank clients. Throughout his career at Morgan Stanley, Paolo led market defining transactions for Italian and more recently south European issuers.

He joined Morgan Stanley in 1997 in the London office and since 2019 is based in the Milan office.
Paolo holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering from Polytechnic University of Milan and a Master in Production Management from Chalmers University in Goteborg
