Gianluigi Ferri began his professional career as an Electronic Engineer and from 1986 to 1999 coordinated major software development projects in the healthcare sector and for the Italian financial markets, where he took part in the digital transformation from open outcry to telematic systems of the Italian Stock Exchange. He later pioneered the distribution in Italy of innovative Machine-to-Machine products (precursors of the Internet of Things) for data transmission over cellular networks.
Since the early 2000s, he has been the creator and publisher of “Wireless,” the first B2B magazine for the emerging mobile economy. Starting in 2002, he began creating and organizing training, networking, and discussion events, establishing numerous exclusive B2B meeting points that progressively became reference events for the telecommunications industry in Italy, especially in innovative technologies such as IoT, Wearable, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, AR/VR, and Blockchain. During this period, he contributed to the development of several ICT trade fairs and collaborated with international organizers in developing tradeshows in Italy and abroad.
In 2020, for Innovabilify, a company dedicated to sales & marketing development for emerging digital technologies, he created and launched several innovative initiatives dedicated to the world of Smart City and Mobility. Notable among them are the IoMOBILITY AWARDS, which have become the Italian benchmark for Next Generation Mobility, and SMART LAND NOW, created to promote digital innovation in local territories and communities.
He is passionate about mountains and photography, which he has always sought to combine with his work through consulting activities for innovative projects carried out in the Alps. In 2022, he created VISIONALPS, a personal initiative dedicated to the digital and sustainable transformation of Alpine territories.
