Massimiliano Bienati is Head of Transport Policy at ECCO, the independent Italian think tank dedicated to the energy transition and climate change. At ECCO, he coordinates research, networking, and advocacy activities aimed at the decarbonization of the transport sector, with a particular focus on the transition to electric mobility.
Massimiliano holds a PhD in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry from Humboldt University in Berlin and a Master in Business Administration from the Politecnico di Milano. After a long international management career in the steel industry, since 2008 he shifted his focus to climate and energy research and policy, collaborating with Italian and European organizations, including the Foundation for Sustainable Development, where he serves as an expert associate.
