Until now, virtual vehicle development on challenging surfaces—like ice, wet asphalt, or snow—was practically impossible from day one of a program. For decades, the automotive industry has relied on tire models built in controlled labs, using idealized standards that fail to capture the messy, unpredictable nature of the real world.
At WOM, we’re changing that.
Born in Torino and currently functioning inside the Politecnico di Torino’s incubator I3P, WOM is the result of a question no one else dared to answer: Why does vehicle simulation still fall short of reality—especially when it matters most?
With nearly 40 years of combined experience in vehicle dynamics, testing, and simulation, our founding team spent six years leading a groundbreaking independent research project. That journey gave birth to a patented innovative device that brings real-world tire behavior into the virtual world to change the rules of vehicle developments.
Now, for the first time, automotive developers can simulate vehicle dynamics on critical low-friction surfaces—from day one of the design process. No need to wait for physical prototypes. No need to guess how tires might behave in the rain, snow, or on black ice.
But tires are just the beginning.
Our roadmap extends to steering, suspension, and beyond—redefining how vehicles are tested, developed, and perfected virtually. We are building a new era of embedded smart technologies that make virtual testing not just accurate, but transformational.
By 2030, WOM will enable the industry to simulate the unsimulatable—pushing the boundaries of safety, performance, and sustainability in mobility like never before.
