Simone Di Piazza

Head of Innovation and R&D Services Ducati Motor Holding

Simone Di Piazza is a mechanical engineer who graduated at the University of Bologna, Italy.

He started working for Ducati Motor Holding as a structural analyst just after his graduation.

After being Head of Simulation for 6 years, serving both chassis and engine Department, he was nominated Head of R&D Services too: R&D Services include Material and Process experts with related Laboratories.

For 13 years he was also Head of Chassis Design Department, leading the teams of engineers who developed the various product families of Ducati portfolio.

Since 2019 he is Head of Innovation: his role is to look for new ideas and technologies to improve performance of chassis, engine and electronics. He also keeps the relationships with Universities, manage funded projects and IP.
