Silvio Pietro Angori

Silvio Pietro Angori is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Pininfarina Group since April 2009. He joined Pininfarina on January 2007 as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, Silvio led the Company through a major repositioning of its business aimed at keeping and enhancing Pininfarina as global renown Italian Design and Engineering house.
From 1994 to 2007 Mr. Angori worked at ArvinMeritor Inc. now Meritor Inc., a leading global automotive and commercial vehicle components and systems supplier. Lately as General Manager of Meritor, Silvio created from scratch a global Commercial Vehicle
Emissions business unit, among the largest in the world.
Prior to Meritor, Silvio worked for 4 years as Senior Researcher at Fiat Research Centre, a research arm of the global car maker Fiat Auto Co. In his early days after University he was Researcher in the field of aerodynamics at Agusta Westland Helicopters, a leading international aeronautical company.
Besides design and management, Silvio’s interests are towards literature, philosophy and science and their interlinks.
Silvio holds a Master’s Degree of Business Administration from the Booth School of Business of University of Chicago, US, he also has a Master’s Degree in Theoretical Physics from “La Sapienza” University in Rome, Italy and he is a member of several entrepreneurial associations and theirs statutory boards, such as Aspen Institute, and also, he is the Chairman of the Italian Car Design and Engineering, Automotive Association.
