Maserati Ghibli Hybrid

The Maserati Ghibli is renewed and integrates into the MY 2021 price list a new 4-cylinder turbo petrol 2.0 engine with 330 HP. It is a hybrid engine that takes the place of the 3.0 V6 turbo diesel and which is expected to arrive by the end of 2020. The project was developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab of Modena with the aim of limiting emissions, while achieving the performance expects from a Maserati, maintaining the perfect weight balance.

The engine is equipped with an electric compressor to support the thrust of the exhaust gas turbocharger. The electrification aims to eliminate response delays on the accelerator. The whole system is powered at 48V by a lithium-ion battery with 500 Wh (or 0.5 kWh) capacity, fixed to the rear area of the body. The sizing of this component took into account the need to keep the weight increase low (80 kg less than the Ghibli Diesel), to the benefit of the driving dynamics expected from a Maserati.

Aesthetically, the Maserati Ghibli model year 2021 (produced in the Grugliasco plant) is recognized for a new radiator grille with tuning fork elements. The new style wants to underline how the new hybrid engine wants to respect the great tradition of the brand when it comes to engine sound. So much so that the same tuning fork is also taken up in other style details of the car, while the anodized blue is a new distinctive element of the brake calipers and of the details on the mudguard and rear pillar.

The rear lights are also new, with a luminous signature inspired by the Maserati Alfieri and the boomerang design of the Giugiaro 3200 GT model, while inside the most important work has been done on the renewal of the ecosystem on which the infotainment is based, which is now based on the Android Automotive system with a 10-inch screen.
