THE CHALLENGE OF TALENTS IN AN AGE OF SKILL SHORTAGES: 5.0

In Italy, the population is aging while the number of young people is shrinking, influenced by the pandemic and remote work discovered during the lockdown. Millennials had redefined priorities and goals, seeking a balance between work and life.

Generation Z, the first fully digitized, shows different interests, with less fascination with the automobile but a strong focus on sustainable mobility. Despite the decrease of young people in the country, many high-quality graduates choose to move abroad for higher salaries and a better lifestyle. In this context, promoting STEM policies and fostering diversity, encouraging all genders to pursue these majors, become increasingly crucial.

We discuss this with educational institutions and companies in the field to understand what the priorities and areas of focus are.
